Vaona Ripasso Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC “Pegrandi” is a refined red wine from the Veneto region, characterized by an intense ruby red color tending toward garnet. It is produced using the traditional Ripasso method, in which the base Valpolicella wine is refermented on the leftover grape skins from Amarone, enhancing its structure and aromatic complexity. It opens with a complex bouquet of black cherries, ripe plums, and dried fruit, often accompanied by subtle spicy notes, tobacco, and hints of vanilla or chocolate. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with soft tannins and a velvety, persistent finish. It is recommended to open the bottle a few minutes before serving or to decant it for up to two hours, allowing the wine to fully express its aromatic profile.
